The vocabulary of a composite curve contains 3 elements
- Straight segment
- Arc (part of a circle)
- Elliptical arc (part of an ellipse)
These elements are 'chained' together to form the arbitrary profile. Splines, nurbs and other more advanced paths are not supported. These have to be approximated to use the 3 elements supported by IFCs.
